DO NOT send your kids to this school!
This school is horrible, teachers yell at students.
They care more about if you have a tie or if your shirt is tucked in than your actual education, all they’ve taught this year in religion is water and fire. Information is practically beaten down the students throats and don’t do anything about bullying. There was a incident not to long ago where a student anonymously posted a bad review and when word travelled who the student was the student was forced to write a good review.
I had recently got an email about practical subjects like HPE and Dance about the rules for the uniform I’ll paste in a bit of what they said below.
“This purpose of this email is to clarify the uniform policies and procedures that are relevant for changing into and out of your sports uniform for practical HPE lessons and to explain the process when you are not prepared with the correct uniform. It is important that you wear the full sports uniform during these lessons for safety, comfort and to maximise performance. Class teachers will advise which days your sports uniform is required. Please see the full policy below which explains the procedure that you are expected to follow:”
• “Students will be given time to change into the sports uniform at the beginning of the class lesson by their HPE teacher. – this one never happens
• Students are to remain in their morning Pastoral Care class in order to take part in that lesson.
• Students will get changed back into the formal uniform at first break.”
“We understand that on occasions, you may have a legitimate reason for not being able to participate in practical lessons. In these instances, which may be due to injury, illness or other factors, we ask that you provide a written note from your parents/caregivers to give to your HPE teacher. If you are unable to participate for an extended period, a medical certificate may be required. If you have a note explaining why you do not have your uniform, but are physically able, you may be permitted to participate in practical lessons if the learning environment is deemed safe to do so (this also applies to students with no note). Alternatively, you may undertake activities such as:
• Assisting with equipment set up and pack down.
• Acting as referees/umpires for class games.
• Completing observation sheets of activities completed during the lesson.
• Alternative set work
From the beginning of term 4 this year, where students are not prepared for class with their sports uniform and do not have a note explaining a legitimate reason, the following procedure will take place each term:
First Instance – You will be given a verbal reminder about the correct wearing of the college sports uniform for practical lessons.
Second Instance – You will be required to attend a 20-minute community service session held during school time.
Third Instance – You will be required to attend a Uniform Mandatory Support Afternoon (UMSA). These sessions will be held on Monday or Tuesday afternoons from 3:15pm – 4:15pm.” If you look at the instances you’d think that would be a bit extreme for not having the correct uniform. Also with not having the sports uniform but are physically able to participate then you are able to participate if deemed safe but my HPE teacher has made some of my classmates play a game that is a combination of cricket and baseball and seems I didn’t have the right uniform that day I thought I wasn’t allowed to play but apparently not because my teacher made me play and some of the others who didn’t have the right uniform play I almost rolled my ankle so many times.
My Pastoral leader acts like she cares but when you come to her with a problem she doesn’t do crap!
They also don’t give a crap about your mental health and do little independent working, I have been screwed over so many times by the teachers it’s not funny and it never was.
When I went to camp and went in the mud pit after I was freezing I could barely feel my feet yet the teachers didn’t give a crap!
They act all caring for the environment when here they are treating the gardens like crap.
The floors in Tempier and Mazenod are disgusting and probably have never been cleaned I wouldn’t drink out of the bubblers even if my life depended on it because kids have done some really gross crap to them and they’ve also probably never been cleaned.
