  1. I am extremely upset that I feel the need to write this however I feel I no longer have a choice. We enrolled our son at this school soon into term 1 of 2021 and within a few months, my husband lost his job as a direct result of the impact of COVID. The school was aware that I am a stay at home mother with 7 children to care for and we immediately made contact with the school. They assured us that concessions were available, however I was distraught to find a letter in the mail from a solicitor demanding payment or I would be taken to court. We were then told that there was a “communication issue” and that we were supposed to be informed by the school before it was sent to debt collection. They then cancelled the legal action, however to my knowledge, no new payment arrangement was put in place and I was not informed of anything subsequently, and my focus turned back to helping my husband find new employment and get out children back to being fed, clothed and homed.

2 months has gone by and suddenly again, a letter has arrived in the mail demanding the same fees, from the same solicitor. I am beyond done. Yes, we should have been more proactive with the school, however I am unsure what else we could have done, we have provided proof that we physically cannot pay these fees (and we are needing to remove our son from the school as a direct result of the extremely unaffordable fees), yet they are continuing to chase us.

To do this to a large family, in the middle of a well known extremely difficult event that is financially affecting the lives of millions, is very disappointing. I sincerely hope this review will be seen and progress can be made to process our concession so that we may be entitled to leave, rebuild our lives and give our children the stability they deserve. Should we not be given that human right, I will make no hesitation to take this further and contact the media.
